Baby's First Blog
So since im new to this i was thinking its kinda like a milestone for me, in my 25 years of life thus far... and this got me thinking about those baby books your mother starts for you at birth. You know, the ones that still have a lock of your hair taped inside from your first haircut, or a tooth that the ToothFairy was supposed to have taken from under your pillow and flown away with to the star that she lived on. (well at least that's the version of what was supposed to have happened in my young world!) The book of 'firsts'; full of all the relatively normal things that most people go through as a process of aging, and growing up. Anyways, u get the picture... But this got me thinking that in today's cyber, online, virtual world maybe we should have a spot in that book for Baby's First Blog. Although my book would have to be huge, as im on year 25 and still having these 'firsts'... but in the coming years maybe 4 year olds will be starting their first blog, as a means of letting all the other 4 year olds knows that the ToothFairy has left them a crisp clean new fifty dollar bill under their pillow (as opposed to the quarter that i got, cheap flying bitch that damn fairy was in the 80's!)
Anyway, so yeah, i don't really know what im doing with this thing... and if not for the help of Erin at work and her sister whom i have yet to meet, i wouldn't have this sweet new entry to put in my giant baby book of firsts!
Oh and while im at it, i should probably also add entries for some of the other milestones im sure my mother has left out over the last ten years or so...like graduating high school (miracle!) or college, and then university and post-grad too; first car maybe? even though second car is waaaay cooler and less rusty!... Ooooo and lets not forget the really important stuff like being the first place winner of a serious FlipCup championship (on more than one occasion, my first tattoo, first body piercing even? How about first MySpace page (deleted and then re-added and then deleted in a losing battle to Facebook, obvi!) What about first drinking-related injury in uni? Gotta get the really important life milestones in there!
SOooooo having said all that, i guess what i was really just trying to say is that this is a first for me! And im still uncertain if im going to like blogging, but i thought i'd at least give it a try. Especially since doing anything other than actually working on paid work time seems like a fantastic idea if i ever heard one! Thanks to Erin and Jenni for being pro-slacker with me all the way! woo hooo!!! ;)
